We recommend that face painting is not suitable for children under the age of 2 years. Children under 2 years do not understand face painting and can get scared. Certain face paints are not recommended for children under 3 years. Children under three years can be painted but only with suitable products.
We only use top quality professional face paints that are European Cosmetics Compliant / Approved (EEC). Our face paints are water based and have anti-bacterial and hypo-allergenic properties. Our paints are specifically designed for use on the face and body. We use brands such as Snazaroo, Grimas, Kryolan, Wolfe, Fardel and Paradise.
Without prejudice we reserve the right not to paint anyone we feel should not be painted.
Our face painters will not paint anyone who does not want to be painted, anyone who has any apparent skin complaints such as Eczema, Chicken Pox, Conjunctivitis, Cuts, Bruises or any person who seems unwell. We do not paint children who are asleep. (This is not an exhaustive list) The parent or guardian has the responsibility to inform the artist of any reason why the child cannot be painted. Where possible we will try to paint around the problem area or paint something on the arm or hand as an alternative.
If there is a concern that a child or adult has sensitive skin we will happily perform a patch test on the inside of the arm, If no reaction occurs after 20 minutes then we will paint the person.
We will not be held liable to any child / adult who may have a reaction to our paints, tattoos or other products. Do not allow yourself or you child to be painted if you think they may be allergic to any of our products.
We do insist that the child's face be clean as we need to check the area is safe to paint. Baby wipes are available for the parent / guardian to use on the child. We do not accept liability or responsibility for any reactions caused by baby wipes.
We use a clean sponge for every child / adult, and clean brushes after every child to prevent cross infection.
We wash all sponges after use at 60 degrees in the washing machine using non-bio washing powder.
We insist that our paints products are not touched by the public to ensure that health and hygeine standards are maintained. Parents are asked to keep small children clear of the painting table.
Lorraine Jarman holds a current Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check (CRB). If you require your artist to have a CRB please make this clear on booking.
Parents / Guardians must stay with their child until they have left the painting area. Parents / guardians are responsible for the supervision of their child while in the queue / painting area. We will not be held liable for anything that happens to a child either in or out of the painting area.
Lorraine has public liability insurance cover for £5,000,000. If you require your artist to have public liability insurance cover please make this clear on booking.
Morphasia's aim is to provided a safe painting area free from hazards. Gazebo strings, tent pegs, tables, chairs and any other equipment owned by Morphsaia will be properly maintained and safely positioned.
A full risk assesment including COSHH data sheets for all products used are available upon request.
Face Painters and Tattoo Artists are not able to observe everything that is going on around them while they are working. For their own safety, children and adults are asked to remain outside the painting area unless it is their turn to be painted.
We reserve the right not to paint symbols or subjects that we consider to be offensive.
We will not permit any child to be photographed in the painting area unless permission has been given beforehand by the parent or guardian. You will be asked to complete a consent form first. If consent is given, photgraphs may be used to promote Morphasia and may be used on the Morphasia website.
Face Paint can be removed with soap and water or baby wipes. Some brands of paint may leave a tinge on the skin. These are mainly the Red, Green, blue and yellow colors. Please don't worry about this as it will fade in a day or so.
